Intro

I have been making roblox games for a long time. But for my first hackathon I wanted to try something different. For this hackathon I learned how to use Rojo.

Rojo

Rojo is a tool that syncs my roblox scripts to my computer. With my game scripts being on my computer I was able to use VSCode and take advantage of all of its features.

VSCode Pros

Since VSCode has a wide range of extensions I was able to use quite a few very helpful ones. Probably the best one was an advanced auto completer and type checking. My VSCode knew how my roblox project was laid out and knew what elements where child elements of the one I was currently talking about. One of the other features I utilized a lot was github. With github I was able to get great version control. This is something not normally found in a roblox project.

How to Play

In the game you start out with a wooden axe and pickaxe. You hit trees with your axe to get wood and you hit rocks with your pickaxe to get stone and iron. You then have 2 options with your new materials. You can either take them to Jerry to sell them for Thaler (the currency). With Thaler you can then buy other materials or you can buy armor and tools. If you dont want to sell your materials you can go to Timmy where you can craft them into tools and armor. Crafting is much more cost efficient.

All tools have durability that gets used up when the tool is used. When a tool hits 0 durability is is destroyed.

All tools, tool durability, armor, and materials save!
