CashGuard

Inspiration

I got double charged by Netflix once, so I wanted to write something that can help everyone deal with that.

What it does

It reads your bank statements and/or receipts, and then proceeds to use that data to give AI-Generated insights and helps you write email to dispute the payment issues you might have

How we built it

I built it using Python with the help of Google Gemini

Challenges we ran into

While writing the app, a lot of visual errors showed up. The website frontend was made with Streamlit, which I have no experience with and have to learn on the go.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I made Streamlit work somehow, and felt pretty proud of it since the UI looks decent even with the little time I have.

What's next for CashGuard

A lot of features can be added to the app, mainly linking to your bank account to automatically fetch the statements, making the emails more robust and can allow user to write a short sentence, which the AI can use to draft a full email with, and even being able to automatically detect and dispute the charges even without user input. There are a lot of things that can be added but I just couldn't due to the time constraints.
