Inspiration

Many profitable small businesses struggle with cash-flow risk because clients pay late and project tracking is scattered across spreadsheets, emails, or memory. Business owners constantly ask:

  • Which invoices need urgent follow-up?
  • How much unpaid work is tied up in projects?
  • Am I heading toward a cash shortfall?

CashFlow Rescue OS solves this by combining project management, invoicing, time tracking, and AI-powered cash-flow recovery into one action-oriented workspace.

What It Does

CashFlow Rescue OS is an AI-built cash-flow command center for freelancers, agencies, and small businesses.

The platform enables users to:

  • Create projects, invoices, and clients using voice commands
  • Track billable and non-billable hours
  • Generate invoices from tracked work or external offline work
  • Upload invoices and work records in bulk via CSV
  • Monitor payables, receivables, and overdue invoices
  • Forecast cash runway and financial risk
  • Receive AI-powered recovery recommendations

Invoices include public share links where clients can:

  • View invoices online
  • Pay via Stripe or bank transfer
  • Request payment extensions

The platform also includes RescueBot, an AI assistant that helps users complete tasks and navigate workflows across the app.

How We Built It

CashFlow Rescue OS was built entirely with MeDo through iterative natural-language prompting.

We used MeDo to generate and refine:

  • The dashboard UI
  • Database structure
  • Project and invoicing workflows
  • AI RescueBot
  • Background cron jobs
  • Reporting and analytics systems

The platform was continuously improved through multi-turn conversations where we requested:

  • Feature additions
  • Refactoring
  • UX improvements
  • Design adjustments

until the product felt polished and production-ready.

Challenges We Ran Into

Data Modeling

Structuring relationships between:

required several iterations to ensure financial calculations stayed accurate.

Scope Management

We initially explored adding inventory and expense management, but narrowed the scope to focus on:

  • Cash-flow recovery
  • Time tracking
  • Invoicing
  • Forecasting

which resulted in a more focused product experience.

UX & Error Handling

Designing intuitive workflows for time tracking, invoicing, and analytics required multiple UI iterations.

Debugging also became challenging as the platform expanded, especially around automation and background jobs, requiring repeated improvements to logging and error handling.
