Inspiration

I work with people in recovery and underserved communities — folks who want to support causes that matter, but don’t have crypto wallets, Web3 knowledge, or access to tech. When I tried to donate to my own Giveth project and couldn’t, I realized: we’re locking people out of supporting decentralized change.

So I built this project to bridge that gap. It’s a simple donation gateway that accepts USD (Stripe, PayPal, or other fiat methods) and converts it to crypto on the backend — sending it directly to Giveth.io wallets. No wallets needed. No confusion. Just impact.

What It Does

  • Accepts USD donations from anyone
  • Converts it to ETH or USDC
  • Sends it to a Giveth project wallet (like Recovery Haven)
  • Breaks the wallet barrier for real-world supporters

Challenges

  • I was new to Bolt, GitHub repos, and app deployment — but I didn’t let that stop me.
  • Crypto-to-fiat flow is complex, and many APIs are restricted or not beginner-friendly.
  • Building something usable, ethical, and mission-aligned without much coding experience took patience and help from AI tools like Lovable and Bolt.

What I Learned

  • How to turn a barrier into a bridge.
  • How to use AI and low-code tools to build real-world tools for real-world people.
  • That Web3 isn’t just for devs — it’s for everyone. We just need to make it reachable. ## What’s Next
  1. Plug in live payment rails – swap the mock flow for real Stripe & PayPal, then add Ramp/Transak for automatic fiat-to-crypto conversion.
  2. Multi-chain support – let donors pick ETH, Polygon, or Celo so fees stay low and impact stays high.
  3. Direct Giveth integration – use the Giveth API to auto-post each donation on-chain and show it on the project page in real time.
  4. Mobile-first PWA – ship a lightweight, phone-friendly version so street-level outreach workers can collect donations on the go.
  5. Open-source onboarding kit – publish docs so any nonprofit can fork the repo, drop in its own wallet, and start accepting Web2 donations to Web3 causes in minutes.
  6. Embed into Recovery Haven – integrate this bridge inside my broader recovery platform so community members can donate to peer-led projects without leaving the app.
  7. Compliance check & audits – work with crypto-savvy accountants to ensure every conversion is transparent, trackable, and regulation-ready.
