Why we built this

Case Closed is a deceptively simple duel on a toroidal grid—permanent trails, head-to-head collisions, and limited boosts. Classic RL agents either learned to stall or self-destruct. We wanted an agent that plays safe early, fights for space mid-game, and closes decisively late. That led us to a hybrid approach: hand-crafted spatial heuristics to prevent dumb crashes + PPO to learn the nuances.
