Inspiration

In today’s world, information spreads rapidly especially among seniors, who are often more vulnerable to misinformation. We wanted to create a solution that reduces the spread of fake news and helps make the internet a safer and more trustworthy place. This led us to develop Casby - Anti Fake News.

What it does

Casby - Anti Fake News allows users to upload an image of a news article or headline through a simple web interface. After clicking “Analyse,” the AI processes the image and returns a result indicating whether the content is likely to be fake, along with supporting information.

How we built it

We built the web application using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and integrated AI capabilities through external APIs. The project is deployed using modern web hosting tools to ensure accessibility and performance.

Challenges we ran into

One of our main challenges was designing an intuitive UX/UI, especially since our target users include seniors. Due to limited time and lack of direct user testing, we focused on creating a clean, simple, and universally accessible interface suitable for all age groups.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that our team successfully developed a complete and functional prototype within a limited timeframe, demonstrating both teamwork and problem-solving skills.

What we learned

Throughout this project, we learned how to deploy web applications using Vercel, securely manage API keys, design user-friendly interfaces, and build a full-stack web solution from scratch.

What's next for Casby - Anti Fake News

In the future, we plan to develop Casby into a mobile application with voice command capabilities, allowing users especially seniors to verify news more easily without needing to navigate complex interfaces.
