Problem & Inspiration

The micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) serve as Indonesia’s economic backbone. Indonesia is home to 64.2 million MSMEs, with micro-small businesses representing 98.68 percent of the sector, government data showed. MSMEs account for 61 percent of the national gross domestic product (GDP), and absorb a whopping 97 percent of the workforce. In today's business landscape, an increasing number of micro and small enterprises are realizing the crucial significance of establishing a strong online presence to expand their global reach. However, venturing into the world of online business demands substantial efforts in learning, understanding, analyzing, and comparing effective strategies. Traditionally, individuals have two choices: either pay exorbitant fees for consulting services or spend countless hours scouring the internet, sifting through various websites, documentation, and service providers, all in the hope of grasping the essentials of a specific domain. Unfortunately, many existing technologies, tools, and applications mainly cater to tech-savvy individuals who are familiar with digital platforms. This creates significant barriers for non-tech-savvy small business owners, as well as individuals with visual impairments and cognitive disabilities, due to the lack of startup capital, limited web accessibility, and insufficient integration of information across platforms. Consequently, accessing valuable knowledge and guidance inexpensively and effortlessly becomes an imposing challenge.

Based on the problem we Inspired to create Casablanca AI, a web service dedicated to providing AI-powered consulting tools, specifically catered to aid micro and small business owners in accessing essential and targeted information about SMEs. Through a chatbot-like interface that accommodates both typed queries, users can receive in-depth text analysis and customized information that aligns with their specific needs. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies like machine learning, natural language processing, GPT-3.5, and web navigation, this service is designed to save users valuable time by efficiently interacting with web information. The ultimate objective is to empower entrepreneurs and offer them a resourceful platform for their business growth and success

Our project's main goal is to empower small business owners by providing them with a highly accessible and versatile tool. This tool aims to help them navigate through the complexities of various SME domains in a quick and cost-effective manner. By utilizing our tool, they won't have to rely on expensive experts or spend endless hours searching through numerous web pages that might not adhere to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines

Challenges we ran into

It takes time to scrape, due to the time constraint of the hackathon, we didn't have time to fully index all the sites so we only have a limited data

What's next for Casablanca AI

Enhance the scrape quantity and get more data in more domains regarding MSME, create community of MSME to share knowledge and educate the community
