Inspiration

Cartoon forests and hand‑drawn anime films inspired a playful, cozy world that feels stylized yet soothing, which Immersive ML can apply to the entire scene for instant mood and cohesion. Style Generator’s Cartoonish mode made it practical to achieve a unified anime art direction across the background and subject, while Face Retouch kept the result flattering and camera‑ready.

What it does

Cartovic transforms the camera feed into a cartoon style, then auto‑coordinates an anime‑styles, glasses, background palette, and subtle face beautification for a cohesive aesthetic. The effect runs in real time by stylizing the full frame and layering face effects and accessories so the character look feels consistent from face to environment

How we built it

The build used GenAI Suite’s Style Generator in Cartoonish mode to generate the anime look, then “Create Model” and “Import to Project” to bring the effect into the scene. Face Retouch handled soft skin and eye enhancements, and accessories were attached via face tracking while Immersive ML rendered the cartoon forest across the frame for a unified style. Iterative prompt edits and the Style Generator gallery/preview workflow were used to refine colors, line weight, and softness until the look matched the desired anime vibe.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing stylization strength with facial clarity required careful tuning so the anime look stayed bold without over‑smoothing or obscuring expressions. Maintaining performance with scene‑wide stylization demanded disciplined asset choices and effect settings to keep real‑time responsiveness on mobile devices.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Achieved a single cohesive anime art direction that stylizes face, body, and background together which makes the scene feel truly immersive. Delivered flattering beauty results that complement the style instead of fighting it, preserving recognizability while enhancing the character look.

What we learned

Prompt design matters: concise, visual descriptors and a few targeted iterations in Style Generator produce faster convergence to the intended anime style. Face effects blend best when applied subtly after the global style pass, leveraging Face Retouch controls to keep texture and detail where it counts. and how to write scripts for making lens in lens studio.

What's next for cartovic

Add character depth with Head Generator variants and themed accessory packs, then rotate seasonal forest palettes via the same Style Generator pipeline. Explore a shared “co‑op” mode using connected experiences and continue refining the Immersive ML look for performance on more devices.

Lens Roadmap: Monetization + Phases

Vision: One‑liner of the Lens value and target audience; problem it solves (creative self‑expression with cohesive anime style).

Monetization: Sponsored Lenses/Sponsored AI Lenses packages, Creator Rewards performance plan, and optional paid media using Lenses Campaigns.

Brand plan: Co‑branded presets for eyewear/beauty and seasonal art packs mapped to partner calendars, with compliance to Lens publishing guidelines.

Phase 1 (Weeks 1–4): Performance/size polish, preview optimization, initial KPI baseline (playtime, saves, shares), and quick iterations.

Phase 2 (Months 2–3): Partner‑ready variants, preset selector, shoppable flow research, and distribution plan for campaign launches.

Phase 3 (Months 3–6): Connected Lenses co‑op mode, seasonal Remote Assets packs, and ML‑based style refinements for more devices
