Inspiration

A project inspired by the theme of nostalgia. We want users to be able to relive moments with their favourite TV characters.

What it does

Our project is an AI chatbot that allows users to talk to their favourite childhood cartoon characters. Additional features include a text-to-speech feature as well as a text-to-image drawing feature.

How we built it

1. We scraped millions of lines of Data via BeautifulSoup
2. Used the Cohere API to train the AI models of each character
3. Created a website using HTML and CSS
4. Hosted the website on Heroku

Challenges we ran into

1. Creating an aesthetically pleasing UI
2. Using Flask for the first time.

We hope CartoonTalk can be used in therapy with potential expansions to mobile applications with 2D/3D virtual environments.
