O(1) - team 33 - Carspace

Inspiration

Global warming is a problem that needs to be fixed for a future of a problem.

There is a lot of roads that are jam packed with cars.

A carpool app solved both of these problems as well as giving a ride to anyone who needs it.

What it does

This app allows a driver to accept a request of someone who wants a ride to lower pollution and reduce the number of cars on the road by half.

How we built it

Flutter was used as the frontend (supports mobile and web) and a mysql database.

Challenges we ran into

Mysql access denied when it was working moments ago

Running app on emulator set a different localhost

Flutter version conflicted package versions

Mysql query errors

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Everything in the app works, it is completely functional.

What we learned

Learned connecting flutter and mysql.

What's next for O(1) - team 33 - Carspace

Future expansions of this project include

Allow multiple groups to carpool at the same time by matching locations

Perform algorithm to find most used routes and paths by users

Perform some sort of ml clustering to find most used pickup and dropoff

Find a way for drivers to get more benefits

For each ride drivers can get coupons for local businesses / extra money
