CC - Carson

Inspiration

As Northeastern Students on the search for co-op, we have been forced to filter out positions simply because we lack the transportation requirements to make the 30 minute commute to its Boston location. As residents of New York and Boston, we drew inspiration from the likes of Uber and Lyft as well as the carpooling-centric application VIA, a cost-friendly and environment focused solution for commuters.

What it does

CC - Carson is a Northeastern University Co-Op Carpool App. As students of Northeastern on co-op, you are able to utilize this app in order to create a carpooling session (designate a driver, include coworker passengers, determine optimized journey from all passenger pick up locations to your collective destinations), view upcoming carpool session, view your CC Session history, and start your next CC Session (as the driver).

How we built it

We storyboarded and produced our MVP of CC Carson on XCode, programming in Swift, and designing in Procreate.

Challenges we ran into

XCode is notoriusoully difficult for Git Sharing on a single repository. Multiple commits were destoryed and we were faced with constant set backs, needing to adapt to lost code and corrupted ViewControllers.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

2 out of 3 of our members have never coded in Swift nor used XCode before the 2023 HackBeanpot. As of this submission, these members became our core back-end developers. We are incredibly proud of them. This was all of ours first time creating a cohesive app.
