Carruca is a platform which allows drivers and truck companies to use their trucks more efficiently, reducing transportation costs and environmental impact. With the platform fleet managers and customers of truck operations just place a shipment order together with the amount they like to pay for the order. The system matches the shipment with truck drivers who are already driving in the same directions. If drivers have some cargo space left, they can accept the shipment and make some extra money.

Carruca will make truck driving a much more interesting and better paying job because drivers can decide for themselves to take on extra cargo. To increase the motivation even more, a part of the money that is being made with the extra freight could be used for a bonus for the truck driver.

With Carruca shippers can : -Add a new trajectory; -Add the free space that they have; -Get notification of shipping demand; -Accept or Decline demands; -View shipping order.

Customers will profit in the first place by lower transportation costs. Furthermore, there are many windows of opportunity here: By implementing a rating system, the quality will be more tranparent. In the future customers could use Carruca to book their shipment directly, skipping a chain in the supply chain and this recuding costs. With Carruca it would be easy to implement detailed tracking systems or contact points with the driver as well.

With Carruca users can : -order shipping; -Add details and proposed price; -wait for the shipper approval; -Contact shipper for negociation; -Get notification when items are delivered.

We used some of the newest technologies available to develop and design this solution: -NodeJS for the back-end -VueJS for the front-end of the Web App -Native Android (Java). -Invision for the designs

Information technology: Our system will collect data from both users and shippers, this data will be transformed to Knowledge using data mining algorithms; we can list some use cases: -Detecting the most used line => Investing in creating dedicated profitable shipping industry lines -Predicting the odds of fraud => Taking more measure to minimize the risk possibilities -Profiling of users (per type, gender, type of cargos, region,…) This knowledge will serve in taking strategic decisions for our Business
