Inspiration
Witnessing firsthand, the numerous students struggling to find suitable gig opportunities propelled us to create Career Needs. We envisioned a compelling, easily navigable platform to simplify the process of finding the right fit for students' skill sets and preferences; a place where job-hunting feels less like a chore and more like a rewarding adventure.
What it does
Say goodbye to tedious job searches! Career Needs revolutionizes gig-hunting into a fun, user-friendly experience. Students can effortlessly swipe through a reel of enticing opportunities, kindling their interests, and matching with gigs that fit their individual skills and likings. It is as simple as creating a profile with their Github username to gain access to a myriad of short-term job possibilities.
How we built it
Constructed using state-of-the-art technologies and user-focused design principles, Career Needs is designed with the student user in mind. With a tech stack comprising Next.js, Node.js, Typescript, and numerous other libraries, we've crafted a platform that provides a seamless and engaging user experience.
Challenges we ran into
Throughout the development of Career Needs , we faced several challenges, although the biggest challenge was building the whole system design and implementing it to make the generation of Ai generated videos automatic.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We take immense pride in having sculpted a platform that goes above and beyond mere technical specifications to resonate with our target audience — the students. We're not just hinting at a potential product, but we have built something ready for launch with a promising roadmap ahead.
What we learned
The journey of constructing Career Needs was a revelation. Taking a wild idea and seeing it shape into a functional, beneficial product filled us with awe at the potential impact and influence it holds for the future.
What's next for Career Needs
This is just the beginning for Career Needs. Exciting developments are on the the way such as users being able to create shareable links to their profiles for recruiters, enhancing our recommendation algorithm based on user behavior in website interaction and skills, and more. Our biggest anticipation is the addition of a feature allowing students to create a 30-second video for recruiters to browse. We are also planning on uploading these videos to platforms like YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, breaking the "reel algorithm" and propelling Career Needs into the spotlight, all while reducing manual labor, thanks to automation. All these innovations aim to make student life easier, levelling up their chances of landing that perfect gig. Stay tuned!
