Inspiration
Our team from Sam Houston ACM set out to tackle as many of the challenges as we could and unify that into one sleek app that people would actually use.
What it does
Efficiently and Securely gives users a way to organize rides.
How I built it
We built it using html, javascript, css, and python. We initialized this idea as a web app that we hope to expand more on in the future.
Challenges I ran into
Time, Internet, Microsoft Cognitive API, and various key team mates being highly interested in all of these phenomenal workshops put on.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We created a working app and had fun in the process.
What I learned
We need to decide in advance whether we are coming here to develop, learn, or both and effectively communicate that to our team members so that people who are here for the experience can be here for the experience, and people who are here to have fun and do all the workshops can have the freedom to do that without having the responsibility of key roles on the project.
What's next for Carpool
Make the app a phone and web based app to be able to reach all potential users while still being user friendly, implement the Microsoft Cognitive Facial Recognition API to do passwordless authentication, and implement the GPS function of the smartcar API to be able to do live updates.
