Inspiration

Lease ending or loan underwater, drivers face a big money decision with only the dealer's numbers. We wanted an honest answer in a minute.

What it does

Snap your contract and CarPlan prices your car from live listings, then compares keeping it, a new Toyota, Certified Used, and a flexible subscription by all-in cost. You get one plain-language recommendation. If you owe more than your car is worth, it puts GAP coverage first. It also sends free recall alerts.

How we built it

Next.js and FastAPI on Google Cloud Run. Gemini reads contracts and explains results, while the math follows fixed rules. Data comes from SerpApi, Capital One Nessie, Tiger Data, NHTSA and the EPA.

Challenges we ran into

Our first contract-reading test scored 73%, because of slow Gemini calls and one read of the year as "20245." Range checks, backup requests and a model switch fixed it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

100% of contract fields read correctly with no personal data returned. 22 of 22 tests pass on the live site. Every line is very simple and readable

What we learned

Measure the AI. The smaller model beat the bigger one.
