Inspiration
We wanted to come together and create something that would really explore the "Perspectives" theme, and decided on creating visualizations of the healthcare data set provided in order to gain insight into the population.
What it does
This project gives statistics, summaries, and visualizations of counties in New York state in terms of the uninsured population. There is also a more detailed breakdown of the population by education level.
How we built it
We used a combination of R and SAS to create this project.
Challenges we ran into
We struggled with creating more complex data visualizations using R due to time constraints.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to come together and create something complete -- the project is a culmination of all of our ideas together.
What we learned
Getting a project to come together virtually is much more difficult -- even simple things can take longer than expected!
What's next for Carolina Data Challenge Project 2021
We look forward to returning next year with improvements and fresh ideas!
