Inspiration The idea for the Carnival of Shadows came from my fascination with gothic storytelling, Tim Burton films, and eerie amusement parks. I wanted to craft a whimsical yet unsettling world where every frame tells a story.
What I Learned I explored AI-based filmmaking, learning how to combine image and video generation, narration, and music to create a cohesive story. I gained experience in storyboarding for AI output, pacing, and mood creation.
How I Built It I relied entirely on AI tools:
ToMoviee AI to generate images and animate video sequences
Epidemic Sound for the background music
Minimax Audio 02 for narration I focused on guiding the AI with precise prompts to achieve the desired gothic, whimsical aesthetic and cinematic tone.
Challenges The main challenges were:
Directing AI to capture the right mood and lighting consistently
Synchronizing music, narration, and visuals for maximum impact
Keeping consistency of the characters throughout all scenes
Ensuring the story remained engaging and coherent despite using generative tools
Using AI allowed me to bring the Carnival of Shadows to life quickly while still exploring creative storytelling in a visually compelling way.
