Inspiration

We know that rural areas have many natural resources which help people around that areas to find a job. Besides that, there's a lot of home industry in rural areas that employ a bunch of locals in the area. We know that finding a job in rural areas can be difficult to the person who doesn't have any connection in there. Likewise for the employer in that areas, sometimes it is difficult to find a person who want to work with them (especially for short duration). So, we built an app that helps local people to post the job and apply the job in that areas. Hopefully it'll help the locals to find freelance/full-time jobs in their areas.

What it does

In CariGawe, you can apply to rural job vacancies created by people around you. If you need help, you can create a job vacancy yourself so people can help you with your rural business.

How we built it

We seperated between FE and BE in CariGawe. We built FE with React and BE with FastAPI. Moreover, we used postgresql as our database and ChakraUI as UI framework that we used. Then, We deploy our app to Heroku for BE and Netlify for FE.

Challenges we ran into

We had issues in image uploading in the frontend and backend part of the application and we also had to cut short some features because we spent our time dealing with issues in other core features.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We could build a project in just two days. This project is more complex and bigger that before. We could learn new UI Framework (ChakraUI) and SQL Alchemy.

What we learned

We learned how to implement SQLAlchemy for the app backend and tried a UI framework called Chakra UI that we never used before

What's next for CariGawe

We will try to deploy our app into cloud and add some feature that will help our users to find a job or to find fit candidate for the job that they post.
