CargoBooking eMagic: reads multiple content formats and converts it digitally to ONE Record

During the last 18 months, COVID restrictions have led to more remote working. Airlines, GSAs & Freight Forwarders have faced an exponential increase in email traffic for quotes and bookings. We are experiencing an accelerated transformation in the Cargo industry as transactions are moved from phone calls to email and now from emails to a full digital process.

Market studies show up to 75-80% of cargo quotes, prebookings, space checks and bookings are processed over email.

RESULT: Time-consuming manual processing of thousands of emails with numerous exchanges resulting in long times periods for quoting/booking. Often accompanied with the need to double key much data bringing additional expense, more errors and a reduced customer service. Airlines, their GSAs, and Freight Forwarders are increasingly being inundated with electronic inquiries.

The new CargoBooking "eMagic" tool will be able to read and process these messages and offer a full digitized seamless response. "eMagic" can read all different types of content such as emails, texts, and images, and convert them to ONE Record JSON. It then communicates that information over the airline API to offer a full end-to-end fulfillment - Quote, Book (through CargoBooking), pay by Pay Cargo, and Track and Trace by Airline API.

Proces: Request (email/text/image/table) -> Quote on CargoBooking -> Review QR flights -> Book - > Pay on generated invoice over Pay Cargo -> Track and Trace by API

How did you build it?

During the Hackathon we have improved our email parsing tool to analyze tables and images using Amazon AWS Textract service and have achieved consistent and accurate results. We have also created the Chrome extension to create quotes from text in addition to the current MS Outlook add-on. We were able to link to the QR API for quotes, capacity search and booking and make final payment through PayCargo.

What are you proud of?

How the technology and automation can increase the efficiency and decrease the workload on common simple tasks. We are proud that the "eMagic" tool can be integrated with Outlook office 365 , Gmail and convert emails to different types of data, including ONE Record logistics object JSON for further processing in the Airline/GSA system. On the hackathon we were able to showcase the process:

Emails with images and tables in multiple languages - > convert to Logistics Object - > search by API QR flights and prices -> Book the shipment - > Pay for it

What is the next step for your solution and how will you take that step?

We plan to integrate these workings in to our CargoBooking.aero and Awery ERP solutions and offer it to airlines and GSAs as whitelabeled automation and time-saving digital tools.

Using eMagic for new tools: Drafted Extension for Chrome to track shipment form selected text: will extract AWBs - map to airlines (https://cargobooking.aero/track-and-trace) - track and trace by API or open tracking page
