💡 Inspiration

Many patients have insurance and when they visit the provider, they have no clue what the cost is going to be and if the hospital/clinic even takes their insurance. Moreover, patients may not receive the best care or they may even be needed to transfer after they figure out that the specific provider does not take their insurance. We have a solution to all of these problems.

🩺 What it does

CareNet is a healthcare navigation program that helps users quickly find nearby providers that accept their insurance, understand estimated copays, and get matched to the right level of care. Users can describe symptoms (text/voice), see triage guidance, filter by care type, and view results on a map. The app can also place an AI receptionist call to a provider (via ElevenLabs) to help schedule or verify details, and it tracks appointments.

🛠️ How we built it

Frontend: Next.js (React 19), TypeScript, TailwindCSS, Radix UI Backend: FastAPI (Python) AI: Dedalus/OpenAI API for triage + card scanning Voice: ElevenLabs outbound call API Payments: Flowglad (mock + real mode) Maps: Leaflet (client‑side)

🚀 What's next for CareNet

Expand beyond NYC. Right now CareNet only ships with New York City provider data, so our top priority is scaling the dataset to additional cities and states, then building a pipeline for continuous updates.
