Inspiration
The inspiration came from a very personal place—my grandparents live alone, and as a family member, I’m constantly worried about their well-being. Are they taking their medications on time? Are they attending doctor appointments regularly? Are they okay when no one is around?
These questions kept playing in my mind, and that emotional need is what sparked CareMate— a companion designed to care when you can’t be there.
What it does
CareMate is a compassionate AI agent that: Reminds seniors to take medications and attend appointments. Performs friendly voice check-ins. Logs their responses and well-being patterns. Automatically alerts caregivers or doctors if anything seems off. Provides caregivers with weekly summaries and insights.
How we built it
We combined several sponsor technologies to bring CareMate to life: AWS, Bedrock, NLX, MongoDB
Challenges we ran into
We faced challenges integrating natural voice interactions and making conversations feel smooth and responsive. Coordinating multiple tools like AWS, Bedrock, NLX, MongoDB under tight time constraints was tricky.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
we have integrated live voice speech integration and it takes the full user information and schedules things accordingly
