Inspiration
Healthcare rarely fails solely due to a lack of treatment; it frequently breaks in the gaps between departments and handoffs—such as when a patient is ordered a lab test but never arrives. CareLoop was designed to make these invisible handoffs visible, accountable, and recoverable.
What it does
CareLoop operationalizes healthcare transitions using a core framework: ACTION + OWNER + TIME + STATUS + CONFIRMATION. It tracks patient pathways step-by-step, automatically flags interruptions, categorizes barriers into patient, system, or clinical causes, routes actionable alerts to responsible healthcare workers, and provides facility-level dashboards to transform failures into systemic learning.
How we built it
Built as a lightweight coordination layer rather than a total replacement for existing hospital architectures. Its architecture features a User Interface layer (for patients, doctors, labs, and managers), a Workflow Engine, a Central Data Layer, an Interruption Detection & Escalation Engine, and an Analytics Layer.
What's next for CareLoop
Future plans include integrating with existing hospital and laboratory information systems, expanding low-connectivity offline workflows, adding multilingual and SMS notification support, and deploying predictive machine learning models to identify high-risk pathway interruptions before they occur.# Inspiration
