Inspiration
Caregiving is often managed through scattered messages and notes. We built CareLink to make coordinating care simpler and clearer.
What it does
Admins can manage care receivers, upload photos, assign duties, track caregivers, and review completed duties. Caregivers can view assignments, update handoff notes, and mark duties as completed.
How we built it
We used React, Vite, React Router, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, JWT authentication, and Amazon S3.
Challenges we ran into
Our main challenges were preventing duplicate assignments, preserving completed duties, and keeping handoff notes independent from duties. We learned how to build a secure, role-based full-stack application that connects frontend, backend, database, and cloud storage.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We built a complete caregiving workflow that prevents duplicate assignments, preserves completed duties, supports handoff notes, and securely stores profile images.
What we learned
We learned how to connect React and Spring Boot, secure APIs with JWT authentication, manage data with PostgreSQL, and upload images to Amazon S3.
What's next for CareLink
We plan to add date and time scheduling so admins can set deadlines and caregivers can clearly see when each duty should be completed.
