This project was inspired by my father’s recent diagnosis with high blood pressure and ulcers. Because the condition was not immediately clear, he experienced many symptoms and had to undergo several medical tests. Like many patients, he wanted to understand what was happening not just receive instructions.
As the only person in my household with a medical-related background, he often relies on me to explain test results, symptoms, and treatment options. But I realized I won’t always be available, even though his questions, anxiety, and curiosity won’t stop. This project exists for the moments when patients have questions and uncertainty, but no medically trained person physically available to help them understand.
Using Gemini, I built an assistant that explains medical information in simple, human language while maintaining context over time. By leveraging Gemini’s long-context and multimodal reasoning, the assistant can connect symptoms, medical tests, and prior conversations to help patients see the bigger picture of their health instead of fragmented information.
This tool is not meant to replace doctors, but to empower patients with clarity, confidence, and a stronger sense of involvement in their care especially for those managing chronic conditions.
