Inspiration

When we were deciding on an idea to focus on, we were looking at all the different self care apps we have on our phones and realized that there are many different apps out there that focus on just one aspect of health. We thought it would be easier to just combine all the different components and ideas of these apps together to make it easier for a user to stay in one place. This also helps a person not get confused because everything they will want to focus on for their health will be in one place.

What it does

CareForYou is an app that combines all aspects of health together. It includes journaling, hygiene tips, exercising as well as a resource page to get additional information. The function of this app would be to notify the user to journal at certain times and help a person stay more organized and less stressed.

How we built it

We built the front end components of our app using Figma. Here, we established a design theme using various plugg-ins to add buttons, input boxes, etc. Additionally, we used Anima to add functionality to our components. For instance, making sure that buttons were clickable and that users were able to type into boxes. After this, we attempted to use Anima to generate our code but we were limited by our free subscription plan permissions. We used teleport.Hq to download a zip file of the different pages. After this, we edited the code in order to add the functionality to the buttons.

Challenges we ran into

We had trouble with saving user input into text boxes and merging the design with actual code for functionality. We also struggled with getting the buttons to work.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are all freshman in cybersecurity with little to no experience in app development and design. We are also still new to different programming languages as well. The fact that we were able to come together and figure out how to make our idea into a functional app, we are all extremely proud.

What we learned

We all learned different softwares and how to build apps/websites. We went to many different workshops where we learned about blockchains and an introduction to react. We also did a lot of researching on our own about Anima and Figma to put them together. Overall, we are all very proud of what we were able to learn and grasp for our project in less than 24 hours.

What's next for CareForYou

If we were to work on this app more in the future, we would try to add features that include partnering with Fitbit or Health App to add more elements like a heartrate tracker and steps taken to our exercise page.
