Inspiration
Thousands of talented youth from underserved communities remain trapped in poverty—not from lack of ability, but lack of access to job opportunities. While corporations invest millions in recruitment automation, these youth manually search through irrelevant postings with no guidance.
What it does
CareerPath AI is a WhatsApp bot that acts as a free career mentor using Robotic Process Automation (RPA). It automatically scrapes job boards, matches entry-level positions to each youth's profile, simulates interviews for practice, tracks applications, and connects them to free training resources.
How we built it
- Python + Selenium for RPA job scraping
- WhatsApp Business API for accessibility (no app downloads needed)
- OpenAI API for conversational AI and interview simulation
- Firebase for lightweight data storage
Challenges we faced
Balancing automation sophistication with simplicity for users with limited tech access. Solution: WhatsApp interface—already familiar to our target audience.
What we learned
Enterprise automation tools like RPA can democratize opportunity when applied to social impact, not just corporate efficiency.
What's next
Pilot with 100 youth in Atlanta, then scale to 10,000 across Georgia through partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and community centers.
