Inspiration

Many students and professionals struggle to choose the right career path due to a lack of personalized guidance and overwhelming information online. We wanted to create an AI-powered solution that provides clear, actionable, and customized career advice to help users make informed decisions about their future.

What it does

CareerPath AI is an intelligent career guidance platform that generates personalized career roadmaps based on users' skills, interests, education, and career goals. It offers skill gap analysis, course and certification recommendations, resume analysis, project suggestions, progress tracking, and an AI mentor chatbot for career-related guidance.

How we built it

We built CareerPath AI using React and Tailwind CSS for the frontend, Node.js and Express.js for the backend, and MongoDB for data management. Firebase Authentication was used for secure user login, while Gemini/OpenAI APIs powered the AI-driven recommendations, roadmap generation, resume analysis, and chatbot features.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was generating accurate and personalized career recommendations for diverse user profiles. Integrating AI APIs efficiently, maintaining context for the chatbot, and designing a scalable roadmap generation system within the hackathon timeline were also significant challenges.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully developed a functional AI-powered platform that provides end-to-end career guidance. We are particularly proud of the personalized roadmap generator, skill gap analysis system, resume analyzer, and AI mentor chatbot, which together create a comprehensive career development experience.

What we learned

Through this project, we gained hands-on experience in integrating AI into real-world applications, designing user-centric solutions, optimizing API usage, and collaborating effectively under time constraints. We also deepened our understanding of the challenges users face in career planning.

What's next for CareerPath AI

In the future, we plan to add LinkedIn profile analysis, voice-based career counseling, job recommendation systems, mock interview preparation, multilingual support, and advanced analytics to further enhance personalized career guidance and improve accessibility for users worldwide.
