Inspiration

Career preparation can often feel overwhelming. Students and job seekers have to optimize their resumes, identify missing skills, prepare for interviews, and decide what to learn next using multiple disconnected platforms. We wanted to solve this problem by creating a single AI-powered platform that acts as a personal career companion. Our goal was to make career guidance more accessible, personalized, and data-driven using artificial intelligence.

What it does

CareerOS AI is an intelligent career operating system that helps users throughout their professional journey.

The platform includes:

AI-powered Resume & ATS Analyzer Skill Gap Analysis Personalized Learning Roadmaps AI Career Mentor Mock Interview Preparation Job Preparation Dashboard Profile and Project Management Users receive personalized recommendations based on their career goals, allowing them to continuously improve their resumes, learn relevant skills, and prepare confidently for job opportunities.

How we built it

CareerOS AI was built using a modern full-stack architecture.

Frontend Next.js React TypeScript Tailwind CSS Backend FastAPI Python REST APIs Database & Authentication Supabase Artificial Intelligence Google Gemini API Deployment Vercel (Frontend) Render (Backend) The frontend communicates with the FastAPI backend through REST APIs, while Supabase manages user authentication and data storage. Google Gemini powers the AI features including resume analysis, career guidance, skill recommendations, and roadmap generation.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was integrating AI services reliably into a production environment.

We faced issues related to:

API integration Environment configuration Deployment across multiple platforms Cross-origin resource sharing (CORS) API rate limits and quota management Production environment variables We also spent significant time debugging deployment issues on Vercel and Render to ensure smooth communication between the frontend and backend.
