Inspiration

Five days ago, I had nothing but an idea and a problem I deeply related to. I'm not a developer, I don’t know how to code, and I’ve never built an app like this before. But this hackathon, and five intense days Vibe Coding, gave me the push I needed to bring my vision to life.

GlobalPathIA helps job seekers tailor their resumes based on the cultural and professional expectations of different countries. Most resume builders ignore one critical thing: resumes don’t look the same everywhere — and that causes real stress for people trying to build a career across borders.

Did you know that in Chile, it’s normal to include your photo and even your date of birth in your resume?
In New Zealand, that would be a big red flag.
Or that in NZ, recruiters often call your references directly?

These things might seem small, but they make a huge difference when applying for jobs internationally.

This app was born from my own journey — moving from Chile to Australia on a working holiday visa, then to Korea for a professional job, and later to New Zealand as an immigrant. Each time, I had to adapt, not just to a new life, but to a completely different job market — with different expectations, values, and resume formats. Even writing a resume in my own country was confusing. Doing it abroad? Overwhelming.

GlobalPathIA exists to make that easier.

We don’t just translate resumes — we localize them. And we don’t rely on generic tips scraped from the internet. We know how important local nuances are, so we research and talk directly with recruiters and professionals in each region to ensure our guidance is practical, accurate, and relevant.

Because if you’ve ever tried to apply for a job in a country you didn’t grow up in, you know: these small details can make or break an opportunity.

What it does

  • 🌍 Translates and adapts resumes to local expectations (e.g., Latin America vs NZ/AU/UK)
  • 🧠 Highlights transferable skills and achievements in a culturally aligned format
  • ✍️ Helps users with no formal or unrelated experience craft personalized, credible job descriptions
  • 🎨 Supports multiple resume templates and languages
  • ⚙️ Uses AI to suggest relevant skills and professional summaries
  • 💬 Provides region-specific tips validated by local recruiters and professionals

How I built it

  • Built entirely with Bolt.new
  • Integrated OpenAI’s GPT-4 to generate regionally accurate, multilingual content
  • Used Make.com to connect backend workflows and automate future features

- Designed the entire user flow and UX with a practical, problem-first approach — without writing a single line of code

Challenges I ran into

  • I found out about the hackathon only 5 days ago
  • I had zero coding experience, so learning Bolt.new, Supabase, and prompt engineering all at once was intense
  • Creating conditional logic that adapts by user type, region, and language was very complex
  • Balancing the design, logic, research, and testing — within such a short time — was a huge challenge
  • Making the AI suggestions both region-aware and personalized, without being generic or repetitive, took dozens of iterations

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

  • ✅ Went from idea to working MVP in just 5 days
  • 🧠 Built something truly meaningful based on my own lived experience
  • 🌐 Created a multilingual, region-sensitive resume builder that tackles a very real global problem

What I learned

  • That AI can be a true creative partner when you have a clear vision
  • That with the right tools, mindset, and community, you can build real, working products — even without coding
  • That global mobility should not be limited by resume formatting or local conventions
  • That there's immense value in building with empathy, especially for people navigating stressful transitions in new countries
