Finding the right job can be difficult for students and fresh graduates because they often struggle to understand job requirements, identify skill gaps, and prepare for interviews. I wanted to build a simple AI-powered career assistant that helps users understand job descriptions and prepare for suitable opportunities.

What I learned

I learned how to combine AI with a practical real-world problem. I improved my understanding of Python, data processing, APIs, prompt design, and building a user-friendly application. I also learned how to convert an idea into a working prototype and test it with different inputs.

How I built it

I built an AI Career Assistant that accepts a resume and job description as input. It analyzes the information, identifies matching skills, highlights missing skills, and provides personalized interview questions and preparation suggestions.

The application was designed with a simple interface so that students and freshers can use it without technical knowledge.

Challenges

The main challenges were extracting useful information from resumes, matching skills with different job descriptions, and generating relevant recommendations. I improved the system by cleaning the input data, creating structured prompts, and testing the application with different examples.

Impact

The project can help students save time during job preparation and understand what skills they need to improve. In the future, it can be extended with personalized learning plans, job recommendations, and AI-based mock interviews.
