Inspiration

We came up with this idea by taking inspiration from a speaker at our college’s computer science club who has successfully made a career in big tech and shared his roadmap for landing a job at his dream company. When he broke down his study plan, it really put into perspective the type of structure and organization required to land these high-profile jobs. We wanted to create an application that not only provides a personalized roadmap, but also breaks it down into tangible, achievable tasks that help you reach the necessary proficiency for the positions you’re applying for.

What it does

Our application takes a single job listing, plus a few key details—your desired target date for proficiency, self-reported skill levels, and the days and times you prefer to study—and turns all of that into a structured study plan. Once you review and accept the plan, it automatically syncs with your Google Calendar. All you need to do is log in with your Google account, and we’ll handle the rest: analyzing the job requirements, mapping your schedule, and generating a personalized timeline to keep you on track.

How we built it

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was learning how to use Letta, since it was our first time working with an agentic AI environment. We also found it tough to distill our idea down to a single core problem and come up with a practical solution we could complete within our time constraints.

What's next for CareerMap

We’d like to make CareerMap compatible with more calendar options beyond Google, giving users greater flexibility in how they schedule their study plans. We also plan to expand into a mobile app so you can receive real-time notifications and reminders for your study commitments, keeping you on track anytime, anywhere.
