Inspiration

Job hunting is often tiring and stressful, largely due to highly fragmented job search platforms. We wanted to build something that feels calm and simple, especially for students and early-career job seekers. That’s where CareerBridge came from: a clean “bridge” between finding roles and actually applying with confidence.

What it does

CareerBridge is a modern, easy-to-navigate job-seeking web app that focuses on clarity over clutter. It encompasses a clean dashboard experience so users can browse without feeling overwhelmed. Furthermore, the web app offers a smooth navigation between sections making it feel fast and intuitive. All in all, it is a polished UI that looks professional and works nicely on both desktop and mobile.

How we built it

We built the frontend using React + TypeScript, bundled with Vite, and styled it with Tailwind CSS, plus UI components to move quickly without sacrificing design. We also deployed it so it’s easy for anyone to access and test.

Challenges we ran into

Honestly, time and teamwork speed was the biggest challenge. We ran into Git workflow issues with branch differences and merge conflicts posing as the biggest problems since it was our first time figuring out how to use it as a group. In an attempt to accelerate things, we spent a longer than expected time getting the UI to feel “clean” instead of “empty.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re most proud of the overall look and design of our app. Despite the hackathon time pressure, we successfully shipped a working, presentable prototype. We learned how to make a simple idea feel "real" through good UI and solid structure.

What we learned

We learned that simple UX is often difficult to implement, as it takes real iteration to remove clutter while keeping things useful. We also got much more confident with our TypeScript structure and improved our Git habits through better communication with one another.

What's next for CareerBridge

Next, we want to implement more features, such as exploring resume feedback tools, to further enhance our users' chances of getting employed.
