Inspiration

The inspiration behind CareerSetu AI came from observing that many students struggle to choose the right career path, identify the skills they need, and understand how to prepare for their dream jobs. Students often find career guidance scattered across different platforms, making it difficult to create a clear learning plan. We wanted to build a platform that makes career guidance more accessible, personalized, and easier to understand.

What it does

CareerSetu AI is an AI-powered career guidance platform that helps students discover suitable career paths and create personalized career roadmaps. Users can enter their target career, technical skills, and project information to receive guidance based on their goals. The platform aims to help students understand skill requirements, identify areas for improvement, and take practical steps toward their desired careers through structured and easy-to-follow recommendations.

How we built it

We built CareerSetu AI using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend and Firebase for backend services, including authentication and Firestore database integration. We designed the platform with a simple and user-friendly interface so students can easily enter their information and explore career guidance. JavaScript handles the application logic and user interactions, while Firebase helps manage user accounts and store relevant profile information.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was designing a system that could provide meaningful and personalized career guidance instead of generic recommendations. We also faced challenges in connecting the frontend with Firebase, managing user authentication, storing profile information, and ensuring that different parts of the application work together smoothly. Balancing a simple user experience with useful career-related features was another important challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of building CareerSetu AI as a platform focused on solving a real problem faced by students. We successfully developed the core interface, integrated Firebase authentication and database services, and created a structure for personalized career guidance. Most importantly, we transformed our idea into a working project that has the potential to help students make more informed career decisions.

What we learned

While developing CareerSetu AI, we learned how to build a complete web application using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, integrate Firebase services, manage user data, and organize frontend and backend functionality. We also gained a better understanding of the challenges involved in creating personalized AI-powered experiences and learned the importance of user-friendly design, problem-solving, teamwork, and continuous testing.

What's next for CareerSetu

Our next goal is to make CareerSetu AI more intelligent and personalized by improving its AI-powered career recommendations and roadmap generation. We plan to introduce skill-gap analysis, recommended learning resources, project suggestions, resume analysis, interview preparation, and progress tracking. We also aim to expand career paths across different domains and make CareerSetu AI a complete career development companion that supports students from learning new skills to becoming job-ready.
