Inspiration

Seeing Students drop out of schools due to lack of interest in the course they set out to study in the university maybe due to Parental pressure, lack of information etc. I decided to work on a career counselling project where students can get advise from certified counsellors in order to know areas students have interests from their result in exams and their passion.

What it does

The project gets students to fill in their Waec results, preferred course of study and preferred choice of university in a Microsoft form, Power Automate then gets users inputs then sends it to a counsellor's email who then sends a feedback to the students by having a one to one meeting with the student on Microsoft teams. The collated responses from users will be used to make a visualization using PowerBi on the performance of our students.

How we built it

I created a Microsoft Form whose response are gotten by Power Automate which sends the response to the email of our counsellors. We extract excel files from the form to use on PowerBI to visualize and analyze overall students performance. The counsellor then send a feedback to the students and their guardians on an arranged Microsoft teams meeting.

I learnt how to use power platforms from a beginner level to a intermediate level.

What's next for Career Counselling

We will be adding Career fairs to feature various Universities, have some recent graduates advise students on what steps to take in their journey.
