Inspiration
In Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns, students often believe the only career options are doctor or engineer. This is not due to lack of talent, but lack of exposure. Existing counselling tools are expensive, English-centric, and urban-focused. We were inspired to bridge this gap and bring career discovery to small-town students in a fun, accessible, and affordable way.
What it does
Our web app helps students:
Take a gamified quiz to identify strengths and interests.
Discover diverse career paths like UI/UX design, data science, sports science, logistics, and more—explained in local languages.
Access a curated list of free courses, scholarships, and government schemes that are usually hard to find.
How we built it
Frontend: React.js for a student-friendly, responsive UI.
Backend: Node.js + Express to handle quiz logic and recommendations.
Database: MongoDB for storing results, career data, and resources.
Languages: Started with English + Hindi, expandable to more.
Challenges we ran into
Collecting reliable, structured data for scholarships and non-traditional careers.
Building a smooth bilingual experience for accessibility.
Prioritizing features within the 7-day hackathon timeline.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Delivered a working MVP with quiz + recommendations + resource directory.
Designed a fun, engaging experience instead of a dry counselling tool.
Created something that can scale nationally with real social impact.
What we learned
Accessibility is not only technical—it’s about language, culture, and design.
Students engage better with gamified, bite-sized interactions.
Building for low-data environments is critical for adoption in small towns.
