Inspiration
Career Compass was inspired by the need to help students navigate their career choices effectively. Recognizing that many students struggle with deciding on a career path, I wanted to create a tool that combines their interests, skills, and preferences to provide personalized career recommendations.
What it does
Career Compass offers an interactive quiz that evaluates users' interests and skills. Based on their responses, it provides tailored career suggestions, helping students find paths that suit their individual profiles
How we built it
I built Career Compass using React and Tailwind CSS for the front end, ensuring a responsive and user-friendly interface. I integrated Firebase for user authentication. The quiz logic was implemented to analyze responses and generate personalized career recommendations.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges was ensuring accurate scoring and recommendations from the quiz.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm proud of creating a seamless user experience that guides students effectively through their career exploration.
What we learned
This project taught me a lot about combining user experience design with technical implementation. I learned about integrating Firebase, handling state management in React, and the importance of clear, user-friendly design.
What's next for Career Compass
My next steps include adding more detailed career resources, expanding the quiz to include more fields and interests, and integrating features like user profiles and progress tracking to enhance the overall experience
