Inspiration

Many students and professionals struggle to identify the right career path. They often don't know which skills they already have, what skills they are missing, or how to move toward their dream job. Traditional career guidance is often generic and not personalized. This inspired me to build Career Compass AI, an intelligent tool that uses AI to analyze a user's skills and guide them toward the most suitable career path with a clear and structured roadmap.

What it does

Career Compass AI is an AI-powered career guidance platform that helps users discover the best career path based on their skills and interests. It analyzes a user's current skill set, identifies skill gaps compared to industry requirements, and generates a personalized roadmap that outlines the steps needed to achieve their target career.

The platform provides:

  • A step-by-step roadmap to reach a dream job

How we built it

Career Compass AI was developed using modern web technologies and AI integration. The frontend provides an intuitive and interactive interface where users can input their skills and career interests. The backend processes this data and uses AI models to analyze the user's profile.

The system compares user skills with industry expectations and generates personalized recommendations and learning paths. The application was deployed online to make it easily accessible for users.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was designing a meaningful skill analysis system that produces helpful recommendations instead of generic results. Another challenge was structuring AI responses so that the generated career roadmap remains clear, actionable, and easy to understand for users.

Ensuring the platform provides useful guidance while keeping the user interface simple and engaging was also an important design challenge.
