Inspiration

The idea for Career Buddy stemmed from my own experiences navigating the challenging mountain of job hunting. I recognized the need for a comprehensive tool that could simplify the process, from resume optimization to interview preparation. Inspired by the desire to empower individuals in their career pursuits, I embarked on the journey to create Career Buddy.

What it does

Career Buddy is a revolutionary job search companion app designed to streamline your career journey like never before. It offers a comprehensive suite of features to support you at every step of the job hunting process: ** 1:Resume Optimization: Tailor your resume with keyword suggestions. ** 2:ATS Analysis: *Ensure your resume passes Applicant Tracking Systems. * 3:Job Match Percentage: *See how well your resume fits the job description. * 4:Technical Interview Prep: Access technical interview questions. ** 5:Engagement Features:** Earn Scores, Levels, and Avatars. ** 6:Behavioral Interview Prep:** Get ready with common interview questions. ** 7:Interactive Chatbot:** Instant assistance anytime, anywhere. ** 8:Notepad:** Stay organized with built-in note-taking. ** 9:Cover Letter Generator:** Craft personalized cover letters effortlessly.

How we built it

The development process of Career Buddy was a completely single individual effort fueled by passion and dedication. I embraced agile methodologies, iterating rapidly to iterate upon feedback and incorporate new features seamlessly. I utilized online apps like career flow and interview kickstart to understand what they have implemented and also understanding what is being missed out online and included those feature in the career buddy.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge was making the App Engaging and Fun, I gave a score, Levels get unlocked when users work in the app. There are Avatars which get unlocked inside with levels, There will be motivational Quotes to keep you going during the process.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

*I cracked into AMAZON as a CLOUD SUPPORT ENGINEER on MARCH 7th 2024 (last week) and I am proud to say that the "possible interview questions " section in career buddy helped me a lot and there were few straightforward questions in the interview. I cant wait to see other success stories from this. *

What we learned

Throughout the development of Career Buddy, I learned invaluable lessons about the importance of LLM's and its usages. I also learned that User feedback is very critical and developing app upon user feedback is a great opportunity. I discovered the significance of staying adaptable in a dynamic landscape, constantly evolving to meet the evolving needs of job seekers.

What's next for Career Buddy

I have implemented FEEDBACK section in Carrer Buddy which will help me connect to users directly and develop any users requirements. I also have plan to implementing this even more engaging with a small game strategy where users can engage with numbers with LLM's. I have an idea to make this more personalized with an user by gathering some information of users data like age, sex and many more.
