Inspiration

CareCue was inspired by the growing need for timely care and support in today’s fast-paced world. Many people—especially the elderly, students, and working professionals—often miss medications, appointments, or signs of stress due to busy schedules or lack of continuous assistance. We wanted to create a solution that acts like a gentle, always-available caregiver, using technology to bridge the gap between need and care.

What it does

CareCue is a smart care assistance system integrated with a wearable device that provides reminders, health prompts, and supportive cues in real time. It helps users manage daily routines such as medication schedules, wellness check-ins, and important alerts, while also offering basic emotional and mental well-being support.

How we built it

We designed CareCue as a web-based application connected to a wearable interface. The backend handles user data, reminders, and alert logic, while the frontend provides a simple and accessible user experience. We focused on:

  • User-friendly design
  • Reliable reminder and notification logic
  • Seamless interaction between software and wearable components

Mathematically, reminder scheduling follows time-based triggers: [ Alert = f(time, user_schedule, priority) ]

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was balancing simplicity with functionality. Ensuring reminders were helpful but not overwhelming required careful design decisions. Integrating wearable interactions conceptually and maintaining data consistency were also challenging during development.
