Inspiration

Caring for our loved ones means more than just being there physically. It also means remembering their daily needs, checking on their well-being, and making sure they feel supported. However, busy routines can make these small but important tasks difficult to manage.

As a team, we wanted to explore how voice-first AI could make everyday caregiving simpler, more accessible, and more personal. This inspired us to create CareCircle for Alexa+.

What It Does

CareCircle is a caregiving-focused web experience designed to bring important care information together in one place.

Our project focuses on four key areas:

Medication Tracking: View medication schedules and explore how medication updates can be recorded.
Wellness Check-ins: Make daily well-being a more visible part of caregiving.
Emotional Support: Recognize the importance of helping loved ones feel heard and connected.
Family Connection: Explore natural-language interactions that make caregiving easier to navigate.

How We Built It

We created a web-based dashboard that presents medication schedules, check-in information, and sample prompts for interacting with an Alexa+-style caregiving assistant.

We also explored the Model Context Protocol (MCP) concept, which enables AI applications to connect with tools. Our project demonstrates a voice-first caregiving interface and how everyday requests could be connected to useful actions.

Challenges We Faced

One of our main challenges was bringing different aspects of caregiving into one simple interface without making it confusing or overwhelming.

We also had to think about how to present the idea clearly, make the dashboard easy to understand, and communicate the potential of AI in a meaningful, real-world context.

What We Learned

Working on CareCircle helped us explore web development, user-interface design, AI-assisted experiences, and the role of MCP in connecting AI applications with tools.

Most importantly, we learned how teamwork, collaboration, and a shared goal can help turn an idea into a demonstrable prototype.

What's Next?

We would like to develop CareCircle further by integrating more complete voice interactions, connecting the interface to a functioning backend, and exploring secure medication updates, scheduled check-ins, and family notifications.

Our long-term vision is to help families stay connected while making everyday caregiving more organized and accessible.

Through this project, I learned how to integrate interactive AI features into real-world applications and gained hands-on experience in structuring complex data like medication schedules and daily check-ins. Working closely with my team, I helped test our prototype, refine the user experience, and present our final solution.

My contribution to the Care Circle project was about studying the problem of caregiving and making a simple user experience of using it.
I contributed to the project by figuring out how such features as medication management, daily health check-ins, emotional support, and connecting the family members can be combined into one dashboard. I also learned about the benefits of natural language interaction with the Alexa Plus assistant and how it could make caregiving simpler.
Thanks to this project, I gained knowledge about web-based dashboards, UI design and MCP’s role in linking AI applications with the tool. Also, I worked with my team members to create and present our prototype.
In general, my contribution to the project was that we managed to transform our ideas into reality and to demonstrate how our prototype works.
