Inspiration
We wanted to build a personalized platform for patients and their families to feel closer together while following a patient's otherwise tedious and isolating task of following their medical treatments and schedule. We wanted to make a solution that would include their loved ones in the process had help them keep track and provide assistance when need, while acting as an education tool for everyone with a game extension.
What it does
Our app creates an interactive medical schedule for the patient's family to be used from anywhere and at anytime. Where it beats a typical schedule on pen and paper is that everyone in the "CareCircle" has a live feed of the checklist, so assuming that the usual caretaker in the family isn't home, they could contact someone else in the circle to ensure that the other tasks are carried out and marked as completed on the schedule. It is more or less curated for domestic use, considering that actual nurses would be in charge of caretaking duties if the patient were to be situated at a hospital. The app also comes with a game extension called CrossyCare, which aims to educate family members or new circle members on the patient's condition.
How we built it
Our tech stack includes multiple programming languages and technologies, including React, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and AWS services. All the pages, including Home, To-Do, Resources, as well as the CrossyCare game were all made with React and Javascript functions.
Challenges we ran into
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to implement every functionality we planned to include in our solution.
What we learned
Accomodating for a wide range of health conditions for a technical solution is not an easy task.
What's next for CareCircle
Integrating a chatbox system, so that patients and family members can communicate within the CareCircle, to give it an even more 'homey' feeling.
