Inspiration

Healthcare guidance in local languages is often scarce, especially when individuals need immediate first-aid, maternal support, or chronic disease management. We were inspired to bridge this language and accessibility gap by building a native Bengali medical platform and nursing intelligence tool.

What it does

CareBuddy-AI is a smart medical platform and comprehensive nursing dashboard designed to deliver personalized health insights, first-aid solutions, and vital calculators entirely in Bengali. It features:

• Multi-Domain AI Chatbot: Safe, localized, and professional nursing guidance across Emergency Care, Maternal Care, and Chronic Disease management.
• Health Calculators & Guides: Standard BMI/BMR dynamic evaluation tools and curated resources for conditions like Diabetes, Gastric issues, and nutrition.

How we built it

• AI Integration: Powered by the Google Gemini API (via Vertex AI Studio) to provide accurate, conversational nursing logic.
• Backend & Frontend: Developed using Python and deployed on a robust web infrastructure (MeDo cloud), optimized for lightweight, mobile-first compilation (initially tested using Pydroid 3 and Acode).
• Sustainability & Monetization: Integrated Google AdSense architecture and validated early micro-transactions for custom symptom screening.

Challenges we ran into

Designing a localized medical platform requires strict safety domains and accurate response structuring in Bengali. Ensuring smooth deployment across lightweight mobile development environments and handling cloud sub-domain validation for features like AdSense presented unique technical challenges which we successfully resolved.

What we learned

We gained deep practical experience in prompt engineering with Gemini API for sensitive healthcare contexts, building localized UI/UX for Bengali users, and managing end-to-end cloud deployment for rapid prototyping.

What's next for CareBuddy-AI

• Migration to a top-level custom domain (.com / .xyz).
• Finalizing AdSense Review Verification.
• Database persistence for user registration and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
