Inspiration
An appointment can be easier to follow when questions and notes are in one place. CareBrief explores a simple preparation and record-keeping workflow; this problem statement is a hypothesis, without patient research.
What it does
Users enter a visit label and date, add prioritized questions, mark questions discussed, and record their own notes. A generated brief separates pending and discussed questions, preserves the entered notes, and can be downloaded as text or printed to PDF. A fictional example makes the workflow easy to try.
How we built it
CareBrief is a single-file HTML, CSS and JavaScript prototype. Codex generated the implementation and submission materials, including a narrated demo using real prototype screenshots. It is an AI-assisted build with deterministic behavior and no runtime model inference. Data stays in page memory and clears on reload.
Challenges and learning
The main challenge was keeping the brief consistent with edits and discussion status while making the interface understandable. We verified the fictional demo, question entry, discussed status, text export and reload clearing. The prototype taught us to make storage behavior and limitations visible.
Accomplishments
A working interactive organizer, a portable source package, a one-page project summary, a complete code PDF and a narrated demonstration of actual interactions.
What's next
Explore accessible keyboard interaction and optional user-controlled persistence after user feedback. CareBrief is an administrative organizer, with no diagnosis, treatment advice or clinical validation.
Prior work disclosure
CareBrief was built on 14 October 2026 and submitted to DSH Hacks V2. This UnivaBio entry imports the existing prototype and materials. No new model inference or clinical validation is claimed.
