Care with AI – Your First Choice was inspired by the growing need for personalized, accessible, and intelligent support for individuals managing diabetes. Many patients struggle with day-to-day decisions regarding diet, exercise, and mental wellness, and often lack access to consistent medical guidance. This project aims to bridge that gap using an AI-powered lifestyle chatbot integrated with a supportive community forum. The chatbot provides personalized advice based on user inputs, helping users make informed decisions in real-time, while the forum enables peer-to-peer engagement and emotional support. We built the frontend using React.js for a dynamic user interface and Tailwind CSS for responsive styling, while the backend was developed using Flask to manage user data, chatbot communication, and ML model predictions. The AI chatbot was created using Python’s NLP libraries and prompt engineering to simulate natural, empathetic interactions. One of the main challenges we faced was crafting meaningful chatbot responses that maintain a helpful tone without overstepping ethical or medical boundaries. We also encountered difficulties ensuring smooth data flow between frontend and backend, and building a secure, spam-resistant forum. Despite these challenges, we’re proud to have built a full-stack platform that combines technology and empathy to create real value for users. Through this project, we learned how to apply AI in healthcare contexts, integrate ML models with web applications, and prioritize user privacy and accessibility. Looking ahead, we plan to improve the chatbot with more advanced learning capabilities, integrate wearable device data for real-time monitoring, and expand support to include other chronic conditions—making Care with AI the go-to companion for smart, compassionate healthcare.
