Care Scribe

Inspiration

Ibana worked as a caretaker and there was an issue of a patient's record being inaccurate due to negligibility of verifying a patient's progress and starting a record which impacted her as a caretaker to create an accurate care plan for my patient. This can be detrimental in so many instances - not including the HIPAA violations associated with this.

What it does

A startup for enabling health care professionals such as Caretaker /DSP to maintain records on their patients and it will have metrics to track the patient's progress in building life skills and show what areas improve and which need more work. It will make it easier to create care plans and adjust accordingly since any care plan in any care plan is not a size fit all. This can allow more smooth communication between the patients guardians and even the contractor of the DSP.

How we built it

LOTS of brainstorming and fleshing out details. And a Figma prototype :)

Challenges we ran into

As we were in the startup track, we spent more time than expected fleshing out our idea rather than building the products to complement the idea. Now, we have an almost solid startup idea ready, including the legal and privacy issues.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Building on an idea that will have real impact on real people! As we come from backgrounds that have seen the negative effects of inadequate documentation and improper care, we hope to build benefits for us and others!

What we learned

Bringing med tech ideas to life is hard. There is more to consider when dealing with medical care / information that takes longer than is given credit for. We want to do well by our communities.

What's next for Care Scribe

We are hoping to meet others with a similar background in med/tech and have the necessary skills to grow this. To ensure no HIPAA violations so the patient and caretaker are safe. To gain knowledge in cybersecurity measures to avoid at best zero day vulnerabilities. Our mission is our patients.
