Inspiration
Caregivers who look after elderly parents, children with special needs, or family members recovering from illness spend thousands of hours a year on work the formal economy ignores. It builds no credit history, leaves no proof of skills, and shows up as a "career gap" when they return to work.
What it does
CareProof recognises, quantifies and certifies unpaid caregiving:
- CareScore (0–1000): one score for the responsibility, consistency and complexity of care
- Economic valuation in INR, using India's replacement-cost methodology
- Verified portfolio: a printable document that replaces a "career gap" with verified caregiving tenure
- Community layer with aggregate stats, so caregivers see they're part of a larger group
- Private by default: the caregiver controls verification and sharing
How I built it
React 18, TypeScript and Vite with Tailwind CSS, on Supabase (PostgreSQL) with database-triggered scoring and Supabase authentication. A Three.js community visualisation, and tests with Vitest.
