Inspiration

Our motivation to build this project for healthcare stems from a fundamental belief that every person deserves access to high-quality healthcare, regardless of their circumstances. We recognize that the healthcare industry faces many challenges, from limited resources to complex regulations, but we are inspired by the potential for technology to overcome these obstacles and drive positive change.

We are driven by a deep sense of purpose and a desire to make a difference in the lives of patients and their families. We are motivated by the opportunity to empower our healthcare providers to deliver better care, more efficiently and effectively. And we are inspired by the potential for our project to transform the healthcare industry, improving outcomes and enhancing the quality of life for millions of people worldwide.

What it does

Our website is designed to facilitate easy appointment scheduling for our home healthcare services. Utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as React and Node, our website is user-friendly and efficient. Our hybrid model of content-based and collaborative filtering enables us to recommend the most suitable nurse for each patient. Our algorithm takes into account patient and nurse ailments, as well as their schedules and locations, ensuring that the best possible care is provided. Ultimately, our website streamlines the scheduling process, enabling our admin team to assign the right nurse to the right patient quickly and efficiently.

How we built it

Our web platform was developed utilizing the React framework for the front end and Node.js for the back end. We utilized these technologies to ensure our platform is robust and scalable.

  1. To schedule therapy for a patient, the admin can select the patient from a dropdown list and choose the required therapy and the date it needs to be scheduled.
  2. The system provides a list of top recommended nurses for the therapy based on our model's analysis. The admin can then select the most suitable nurse for the patient.
  3. The system provides easy access to patient and nurse profiles on the other side, making it convenient for the admin to view the relevant data and make informed decisions. Alt text Alt text

Challenges we ran into

Our development process was not without its challenges, particularly in relation to the limited data available. To overcome this obstacle, we opted to create our own data, which has allowed us to leverage a hybrid model of content-based and collaborative filtering. By taking into account patient and nurse ailments, schedules, and locations, our algorithm is able to recommend the most suitable nurse for each patient.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are incredibly proud of the accomplishments we have achieved with our healthcare platform. Our platform's user-friendly design has made it easy for the admin team to schedule appointments, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care. Ultimately, our platform has enabled us to make a meaningful impact in the healthcare industry, and we are proud of the positive outcomes we have been able to achieve for patients in need.

What's next for Care-Pair

These are all ideas for future work to enhance our healthcare platform.

  1. To analyze both the scheduled appointments and those yet to be scheduled, in order to identify any instances where patients may be experiencing unnecessary delays or wait times. By utilizing data analytics, we aim to pinpoint areas where time is being wasted and make improvements that will ultimately save time for both patients and nurses.
  2. Multilingual support within an application can help reach more patients and ensure that they receive quality care regardless of language barriers.
