Inspiration
We were inspired by the prompt of this Hackathon, “hack for the world”. We chose to address three of the UN sustainable development goals in our website.
What it does
Our website helps people easily find and decide on volunteer and donation opportunities to work toward saving the world from things like pollution and world hunger.
How we built it
We build it with the replit html, css, js project.
Challenges we ran into
Replit keeps having problems today, and some of the code doesn’t work as we wanted it to, also the background image really faded out the words we use for the paragraph section so that was a hard thing to fix.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to work things through today as a team, and learn from each other to help make a project work together.
What we learned
In terms of coding languages, we learned about HTML, CSS and Javascript-- none of us have ever coded in JS before, so we really gained a lot of new knowledge today! We also attended some workshops about data privacy and also software development in the workforce.
What's next for Care For the World
We needed to improve most of the functions as it is not that good yet, it is still a simple draft and we could improve better later with more time.
