About CareContext
Inspiration: CareContext was inspired by the challenges faced by older adults living alone and the difficulty caregivers may have in noticing when they need support. I wanted to explore how AI could make elder care more proactive rather than simply reactive.
What it does: CareContext is an AI-powered elder-care companion designed to provide contextual assistance, use smart-home information, and support caregiver awareness through proactive care workflows.
How I built it: I developed an interactive application that combines a conversational AI workflow with an elder-care dashboard and care-related scenarios. The goal was to create a system that can provide relevant responses and support timely attention when potential concerns arise.
What I learned: Building CareContext helped me understand the importance of context-aware AI, user-centered design, privacy, and responsible automation when developing technology for real-world problems.
Challenges: One of the biggest challenges was bringing conversational intelligence and proactive care workflows together into a coherent experience while considering reliability, privacy, and practical implementation constraints.
Future vision: I want to make CareContext more reliable by improving real-time sensor integration, caregiver notifications, and privacy-conscious monitoring, helping older adults maintain independence while giving families greater peace of mind.
