🌟 Inspiration

Access to healthcare should be a right, not a privilege—yet, many underserved communities struggle to find free or low-cost clinics. Inspired by the need for healthcare equity, we created Care Compass, a simple and effective tool that helps individuals locate essential medical services with ease.

🔧 How We Built It

Care Compass is powered by:

Google Maps & Places API 📍 for real-time clinic search and geolocation
Flask (Python) Backend 🖥️ to handle data requests
HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Frontend 🎨 for an intuitive and user-friendly interface
An interactive map that allows users to search for clinics based on their location and specific healthcare needs

Throughout the development of Care Compass, we:

Gained hands-on experience with Google Maps API integration

Google Maps API Configuration: Setting up API keys, enabling the right services, and handling CORS issues.
Search Bar Functionality: Ensuring the search dynamically updates the displayed clinics on the map.
Frontend & Backend Integration: Making the map, search filters, and backend data retrieval work seamlessly together.
Git Merge Conflicts: Navigating repository conflicts when multiple team members work on the project simultaneously.
